Camels in Colorado? Really? Yep. Really. Two dromedary camels (the one-humped kind), named Bill and Gwenivere, live amongst the horses, mules, goats, sheep, cats and dogs - and a few humans too - at a little seven-acre ranch in the high desert of Colorado. Actually, if you check your camel history books, you'll see that it isn't that unusual for camels to live in Colorado. Millions (or is it zillions?) of years ago, camelids - those are camel-like creatures - roamed all over what is now known as Colorado, Nebraska and Oklahoma. Now they're back. Bill came to us via California, and Gwenie was born in Utah. They've been with us in Colorado for more than a year, after spending several years trekking outside of Moab, Utah at a place formerly known as the Camelot Adventure Lodge. We are fascinated by these amazing animals, and want to share them with you, too. So, get in touch to talk camels, ask questions or tell a camel story. Come visit, invite Bill and Gwenie to your next event, or book the most unique ride ever on a four-legged creature. Take a spin on one of the camels in our huge outdoor arena or take a longer trek on miles of camel-ready public land close by. C2K Camel Ranch is located just outside of a town named Rifle in western Colorado, about 90 miles from the Utah border and 60 miles from Aspen.
